Again the duel between Chelsea and Liverpool ended without a winner. Now in the first match of the Premier League, the two sides shared the points after a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge Stadium, Sunday (14/8).


Both teams have consistently failed to win in the previous five meetings in all competitions. This time the record got longer. Liverpool took the lead through Luis Diaz in the 18th minute. Chelsea equalized through Axel Disasi's goal (37).


Tension was felt in the host camp in the early minutes of the match. Liverpool took advantage of this by pressing hard.


Five minutes into the match, the referee had already given a yellow card to Carney Chukwuemeka who violated Ibrahima Konate.


A minute later, Liverpool had a chance through Diego Jota. The opportunity was born from Dominik Szoboszlai's stab that still did not produce. Jota's kickball still needs to be corrected.


Liverpool got another chance in the 11th minute. But Mohamed Salah's right-footed shot only hit the crossbar.


In the 15th minute, it was Chelsea's turn to get a chance. Chelsea's effort through Nicolas Jackson can still be saved by Alisson.


Only three minutes after Jackson's chance, Chelsea's goal was conceded. Receiving Salah's pass, Luis Diaz pushed the ball into the net. Liverpool took a 1-0 lead.


In the 25th minute, Liverpool's counterattack almost resulted in a goal. Luckily for Chelsea, Salah's shot towards the goal was blocked by Thiago Silva.


Liverpool were able to break into Chelsea's goal in the 31st minute. However, referee Anthony Taylor assisted by VAR cancelled the goal scored by Salah for offside.


Chelsea are increasingly pressing the Liverpool defence. The pressure paid off in the 37th minute. Axel Disasi who stood free was able to break into Chelsea's goal. This is Disasi's debut goal with the Blues.


In the 40th minute, VAR cancelled another goal. This time it was Chelsea's turn to have a goal disallowed as Chilwell was caught offside.

Despite continuing to attack, Chelsea failed to add goals until the first half was over.


In the second half, Liverpool tried to press early. The Reds' efforts managed to create an opportunity in the 49th minute. But Virgil van Dijk's shot shot narrowly over the goal.


Chelsea increasingly dominated the game by controlling the ball more. Pochettino's team continued to build attack after attack.


In the 71st minute, through a counterattack, Nicolas Jackson darted into the heart of the Liverpool defence. Unfortunately, his effort failed after being broken by Alisson.


Both sides launched attacks on each other in search of the winning goal. However, no goals occurred and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
