Group D Final Results and Standings: England Wins Group, Croatia Qualifies for Pinhole

ENGLAND

The 2020 European Cup has turned the competition wheel again by holding Matchday 3 Group D on Wednesday (23/6) at midnight IST. As a result, England and Croatia won.


England national team1-0 up against the Czech Republic, at Wembley Stadium. These results are enough to bring England to qualify as group winners.


England leads 1-0 after Raheem Sterling scored in the 12th minute. The Manchester City striker met Jack Grealish's cross with a header.


Until the game was over, no more goals were created. The Czech Republic also failed to score a goal to equalize.


Turning to another match, the Croatian national team won 3-1 against Scotland, at Hampden Park. With that result, Croatia finished second in Group D's final standings.


Croatia took the lead through Nikola Vlasic's goal in the 17th minute. The player completed the chance from close range after getting a header from Ivan Perisic.

However, Croatia's advantage did not last long. Before the first half ended or rather in the 42nd minute, Scotland equalized.


The player who becomes the actor is Callum McGregor. The Celtic midfielder fired a powerful shot from a distance that could not be blocked by Dominik Livakovic. The score is 1-1.


Croatia took the lead again in the 62nd minute. Through a quick counterattack, Luka Modric scored a beautiful goal after releasing a shot into the top left corner of the Scottish goal.


Croatia moved away to 3-1 after Ivan Perisic scored in the 77th minute. The Inter Milan player grabbed Modric's corner with a header.


The 3-1 score which lasted until the long whistle made Croatia overtake the Czech Republic. Croatia is ahead of the Czech Republic's goal productivity.
