Wales National Team and Swiss meet in group A lanjutan Euro 2020. However, the duel between the two teams ended without a winner.
In the match which took place at Baku Olympic Stadium, Azerbaijan, Saturday (12/6), Wales and Switzerland drew 1-1. The two teams had a fierce duel throughout the 90 minutes of the match.
Both teams started the game very carefully. This makes the tempo of the game quite slow.
Wales was able to threaten the Swiss goal first in the 15th minute. Daniel James's mature bait from the left was able to go headlong Kieffer Moore although Yann Sommer was still able to push it away
Five minutes later, it was Switzerland's turn to get a golden opportunity from a corner kick situation. Fabian Schaer continued Xherdan Shaqiri's pass with a backheel which was also able to be saved by Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward.
Switzerland slowly began to dominate the game. Several other golden opportunities could be created by a team nicknamed the Rossocrociati.
Unfortunately, a poor final solution resulted in no goals being created. The 0-0 score lasted until halftime.
After the break, Switzerland immediately steps on the gas. Vladimir Petkovic's team finally managed to break into the Wales goal in the 49th minute.
Starting from Shaqiri's corner, the ball was able to be headed by Breel Embolo without being stopped by Ward. The attacker with number seven on the back seemed to make up for the failure to take advantage of a golden opportunity just seconds earlier.
But after winning, Switzerland again lowered the tempo of the game. They actually appear more defensive to maintain their victory.
The decision was used by Wales to press back. Gareth Bale and friends slowly turned around to enclose the Swiss defense.
Wales were even able to equalize in the 74th minute. Kieffer Moore headed Joe Morrell's cross.
A draw score makes the game in the remaining time more interesting. Switzerland and Wales are both chasing the winning goal.
Five minutes before normal time ended, Switzerland was able to break into the Wales goal through Mario Gavranovic's volley. However, this goal was disallowed by the referee after checking VAR because the player was first caught in an offside position.
The 1-1 score finally lasted until the referee blew the long whistle signaling the game was over. Switzerland and Wales had to settle for sharing one point.
