Arsenal's victory over Porto was colored by problems between Mikel Arteta and Sergio Conceicao. Because, according to Conceicao, Arteta has insulted his family during the match.

High tension coloured Arsenal's duel against Porto in the second leg of the last 16 of the Champions League 2023-2024, at the Emirates Stadium, Wednesday (13/3) early morning WIB. The situation became even more interesting after Leandro Trossard put Arsenal ahead 1-0 in the 41st minute.

These results lasted until normal time ended. Thus, the aggregate is 1-1 because Porto won 1-0 in the first leg.

After two extra rounds were held, the score 1-0 for Arsenal's victory did not change. The winner was decided by a penalty kick shootout.

It was then that the Gunners' goalkeeper, David Raya, emerged as a hero. Arsenal eventually won 4-2 in the shoot-out.

However, Arsenal's victory was tarnished by the accusations voiced by Conceicao. He claimed that during the match Arteta insulted his family.

"Arteta sat on the bench throughout the game and he insulted my family in Spanish. I told him that the person he insulted is no longer among us," Conceicao said after the match.

"Let him worry about coaching his team who have more than enough quality to perform better," Conceicao continued.

When confirmed about the accusation, Arteta did not give a definite answer. "No comment. Thank you very much," said Arteta.

Meanwhile, according to Fabrizio Romano's report, Arsenal have made a rebuttal regarding Conceicao's accusations. According to the Gunners, Arteta never reproached Conceicao.
