The Italian national team starts Euro 2020 smoothly and went through the group A phase flawlessly. Gli Azzurri swept the first three games with a win and sit top of the table.

Italy was dominant with 70 percent possession and was even more dominant when Wales was down to 10 men when Ethan Ampadu was sent off in the 55th minute. Italy had 23 shots and six shots on target.

Italy also sits at the top of the standings with nine points, scoring seven goals without conceding. Meanwhile, Wales, despite losing, qualified as runners-up with four points and ahead on goal difference from Switzerland.

In the other group A match, Switzerland beat Turkey with a landslide score of 3-1 at the Olympic Stadium, Baku. Haris Seferovic (6') scored three Swiss goals and two goals from Xherdan Shaqiri (26' 68') were reduced by Irfan Kahveci's (62') goal.

Turkey finished bottom of the table with no points and their goal has conceded eight goals. Meanwhile, Switzerland sits in third place in the standings. Despite not securing a direct ticket to the knockout phase, Switzerland still has a chance to advance.
