Euro 2020 Group E results: Slovakia party, Spain share the points



Group E's inaugural match European Cup2020 presents the opposite game. Slovakia who opened the match managed to go home with three points. While Spain and Sweden must be willing to share the numbers.

Slovakia opened Group E by fighting against Poland in Saint Petersburg, Russia, Monday (14/5). In this match, Slovakia was able to suppress Poland.

Slovakia took the lead through Wojciech Szczesny's suicide in the 18th minute. Szczesny was unable to repel Robert Mark's solo run, then fired a shot that hit the bottom post and bounced off Szczesny's body.

Slovakia then closed the first half with a 1-0 advantage. In the second half, Poland responded quickly in the 46th minute through Karol Linetty.

Linetty's cross was put to good use by Maciej Rybus. He made a low shot with his left foot which penetrated Martin Dubravka's guard which made the score 1-1.

Disastrous for Poland came in the 62nd minute. Grzegorz Krychowiak was sent off after receiving a second yellow card. The superior number of players utilized Slovakia well.

Slovakia scored again in the 69th minute through Milan Skriniar. Skriniar executed Marek Hamsik's corner and put Slovakia 2-1 up until the game ended.

In another game, the Spanish had to settle for sharing points with Sweden. Playing in La Cartuja, Seville, La Furia Roja drew 0-0.

In this match, Spain continued to attack the Swedish defense. However, none of the Spanish opportunities were able to be converted into goals.
